Vermont requires ATV riders between the age of 12-18 to have a safety certification to operate on land other than their owned property. Currently, VASA has scheduled training classes in Highgate, St Albans and Milton. Highgate is registration on May 5th and the class on May 15th; St Albans June 9 registration and the class on June 19 and Milton is still being finalized. For more info contact VASA.

Joe, how do we register? Do we contact VASA or let you know? I would like to reserve two spaces for the Highgate training for Sierra and Ryan. Let me know what I need to do... Also is there a cost for the class? Thanks! Claire Willette, Secretary

All, as you know (or don't) there is an online course you can take. For the certificate, it will cost you $30.00. If your child attends the VASA sponsored class, it will be a review of the information from the online course, that test but there is no cost for the certificate upon successful completion of the class.
Registration for the Highgate class is May 5 at 6 and the class is May 15 9-4, both at the highate library.
We will have a class in Jun in St Albans and one in July in MIlton.

The May 15th class in Highgate has been cancelled. The next class will be June 19th in Highgate at the Library with registration on June 9th. Claire Willette, Secretary

The Highgate library initially scheduled this class. Unfortunately, it conflicted with a baseball game and a fishing derby. We were having trouble securing a spot in St Albans and just adjusted our schedule and locations.

This is one of the trials and tribulations of trying something new, you do not always get the turn out you hope for. The June 19th ATV Safety class is being cancelled due to lack of participants. We will once again shoot for July and see who is interested. If you have kids between the ages of 12 and 18 who drive ATV's it is required in the State of VT to have a safety class certification. It is punishable by law enforcement if you are not in compliance with this law. If you plan to sign your kids up for the July class please let us know so we can get a count of people interested. Okay, the next class is set. We are going to hold the next class Saturday, July 24th from 9-4 at the Milton Fire Department on Bombardier Drive in Milton. Registration for the class is 6-7:30pm at the Georgia Community Library on Thursday, July 15th. You will get all preparation materials and see a short presentation while signing up. Thanks! Good afternoon-
We are all set to have the Milton Fire Department Training Room for the day of July 24th, with class hours from 9am to 4pm. I plan on getting there to meet Joe at about 8:15.
I am requesting that everyone use the side parking lot (closest to Bombardier Rd) and to use the side entrance off of that lot to enter the building since that door can be unlocked. The front door either needs a code or to be buzzed in from the dispatch office, so the side door is best. I will post signs on both doors.

The first VEST training for our club has been held and all five participants passed their test! We are envisioning another class to be held probably in October depending on interest. We will keep you posted. Thanks to Jason for getting us the Milton Fire Dept. meeting room. It was a great room for training in.
